Sydney's Twentieth Century Italian Fruiterers: a community heritage project

Summary: This project is a collaboration between UTS and the Italian Association of Cooperation (CoAslt). It focuses on the Italian experience in twentieth century Sydney through an investigation of Italian family fruit shops. An oral history project will be developed together with the utilisation of material culture, photographic sources and the built environment in research. Outcomes will include a collections database of oral, pictorial and heritage items. Longer term outcomes will include an exhibition and publication.
