Summary: Effectiveness of project teams is a critical factor in achievement of project outcomes. As projects consume scarce resources, and influence corporate performance, the effectiveness of project teams in achieving outcomes contributes to the sustainability of industry and the environment. This project aims to identify characteristics of project teams that are positively correlated with effective project outcomes. The project complements current ARC funded research on project management competence of individuals and utilises the extensive project database and benchmarking expertise of the industry partner. Intended outcomes include identification and measurement of characteristics of effective project teams as input to project establishment, project team formation and team development for improved project performance.
