A third generation Australian object-oriented software process for systems development

Funding or Partner Organisation: Australian Research Council (ARC SPIRT (Strategic Partnerships with Industry Re)
Object Oriented Pty Ltd (Object Priented Pty Ltd Partner Funds)

Start year: 1997

Summary: Modern, complex software requires a sophisticated process for its creation if quality and productivity objectives are to be met. Processes for developing software products using object technology, as provided by current object-oriented methods, are inadequate. Objectives of this project is to converge existing knowledge built up independently and collaboratively since 1990 from the two object-oriented methods MOSES/OPEN and MeNtORTM. Collaboratively to create and consolidate a sophisticated object-oriented process which will have three manifestations: OPEN (public domain), MeNtOR (commercial process) and UniOPEN-MeNtOR (a teaching version). To undertake extensive industry-based testing of each of these processes.
