Summary: Data mining is facing emergent application challenge in identifying rare and dispersed yet significant links in cross-organization data. Such isolated links may not be observed very often, but are indicative of potential threats or non-compliance when combined. We will develop domain-driven techniques and self-organizing, parallel link discovery algorithms to efficiently identify links of interest to business from vast scales of heterogeneous cross-organization transactions. The outcomes will be an intelligent agent-based system for actionable link mining. The results can benefit Australian security for instance counter-terrorism and enhance compliance such as cross-market surveillance or distributed fraudulent activities.
