Summary: This project will analyse the political commentary published or broadcast in the media outlets of News Corporation. The project aims to discover whether political commentators and columnists who publish in media outlets in the United Kingdom and the United States express a discourse of 'conservative populism' which exists in Australian newspapers published by News Corporation. Through examining the shared intellectual roots of the conservative commentariat, the project will make a major contribution to scholarship on the relationship between media ownership and the content of media.
