Summary: This study aims to examine how Aboriginal women are faring in Australian liberal democracy by comparing the record of Australia s public institutions with that of Canada s public institutions. This study aims to fill a significant gap in the literature assessing how liberal democracies treat Aboriginal women. The study aims to contribute to the national debate about reform of Australia s public institutions by making an argument for greater inclusiveness of Aboriginal women.
