Start year: 2000

Summary: Asthma is an important public health issue in Australia with significant associated morbidity. Another less researched dimension of the impact of asthma is the considerable economic burden the disease places on the individual and the health care system. Given the finite nature of health care budgets, economic evaluation can assist in ensuring resources are spent in a cost effective manner. The objective of Project 9 is to undertake studies on the economics of asthma as well as incorporate economic evaluation and analysis within other projects within the CRC
