Summary: The aim is to understand how organisations create and sustain additional value through joint capabilities either onshore or offshore. Where earlier trends focused on reducing overall costs and improving service levels for mainly client-server transaction type processes, this project focuses on IT&T and Business Processing with regard to leveraging third party skills and innovation for complex service organisations eg retail banks, telecommunications. The impact of other service functions on developing sustainable organisational value and extending capabilities through open innovation will also be considered. Various structures and approaches will be reviewed, such as shared services (inter or intra organisational) and joint ventures.'',
