Summary: The purpose of this project is to characterise the performance and decision-making characteristics of professional rugby league referees. Additionally, this project will develop and validate a tool for quantifying rugby league referees performance and apply this measure to examine the influence of fatigue and specific training interventions on refereeing performance. Ultimately, this project will assist the National Rugby League to better profile, monitor and develop referees performance.
