Summary: Waverley Council Home and Community Care (HACC) programs include the Waverley Community and Seniors Centre and the Waverley Meals on Wheels and Shopping Service. The aim of project was to review Waverley Council¿s specified HACC services to identify appropriate service provision strategies in light of the proposed changes and reviews underway in the HACC services sector, the proposed service directions being considered by the Department of Social Services (DSS), and the need to move to a consumer Directed Care (CDC) model of provision, and provide recommendations on sustainable model/s of service provision for older people in Waverley for both services to 2015 and beyond. The methodology included a desktop review of HACC funding, service delivery reforms, Council documentation and demographic data; service review and analysis; key stakeholder interviews (including with aged care providers) and workshop; and reporting on the findings and recommendations for the future. The intended outcome of the project was to provide Waverley Council with the information needed to continue to providing crucial services to the community in the most sustainable manner appropriate.
