Summary: ACELG has been engaged by the Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (SSROC) to undertake a needs assessment of the Meals on Wheels services across the region. SSROC is the acting agent on behalf of the 16 member councils. The needs assessment is in response to a number of changes to policy and aged care service delivery at the commonwealth and state level, as well as an overall ageing population.The needs assessment will include key findings and recommendations for consideration by SSROC and member councils moving forward towards a Consumer Directed Care (CDC) model of provision.The needs assessment includes; a project inception meeting and project management plan; a policy and demographic review, a case study review of other similar services that provide CDC model provision, stakeholder engagement with member councils, meals on wheels service providers and state and federal health agencies, 16 SWOT analyses, a facilitated discussion with member councils, a needs assessment, reporting and a presentation to General Managers.
