Mapping BYOD use and supporting staff development

Summary: The project will investigate the use and benefits of new and emerging technologies (mobile devices, applications and services) for teaching and learning. An important benefit for the High School and UTS is the formulation of policy and basing of claims in relation to the benefits of mobile and other technologies for education on sound, rigorously and independently researched data. Outcomes The project will lead to the following outcomes: ¿ Baseline data on current uses of BYOD. ¿ Participating teachers will be familiar with educational uses of the tablets, applications and services; ¿ Classes will enjoy cutting-edge technology-enhanced learning experiences over 2015; ¿ The HS will have a clear indication of how to move forward in implementing BYOD strategies; ¿ One or two refereed journal articles will be written by the UTS team for publication in leading academic journals.
