Summary: This project aims to develop fundamental theory and enabling technology for a novel radio remote sensing system using a breakthrough synthetic aperture radio holography concept. Such a system leapfrogs current capabilities to produce high-resolution, day-and-night and weather-independent 3-dimensional images for many applications (e.g., geoscience and climate change research, environmental and agricultural monitoring, defence and securityrelated target detection and planetary exploration). Expected outcomes include (i) advanced sensing and data processing knowledge and (ii) a prototype demonstrating success of the developed analogue and digital hardware that can benefit economic growth through its commercialisation and full application.
