Start year: 2016

Summary: Research & develop at the prototype stage, a "Clean" digital-data supply system which will supply real-time data to a planned Anti-roll over Real-time and Cloud-based Safety System. The Safety System will interface with the Clean-data Supply System, together with other sources of real-time data supply from GPS, Google Earth mapping, and Vehicle On-board operational data. The planned Safety Anti-rollover relies on static and dynamic data. The dynamic data will be collected from specific vehicles and their respective OBDII collected data (ie. from their respective EMS and VMS, and EBMS recording systems). The Research Challenge is to extract, clean relevant data, and transfer them to the Roll-over Prevention system, The challenge relates to the number of Data silos that currently contain relevant "static" data on the different on-road tankers. This is data contained by Byford as the Original Equipment manufacturer. The Research Project will assist in the identification and study of the options available for the supply of the OEM data for each of the vehicles that have been manufactured by Byfords over the past 3 years. The Research Project will form a strategic and important element of Byford's business objectives to manufacture, supply and monitor the safe performance of its Bulk Liquid Tanker fleet. While this is a macro-project that we at Byford are implementing in our right and with our own resources, the strategic inputs made by the RC project will provide us with valuable insights and new knowledge for innovation development, that we currently lack in the area of emerging digital technologies.
