Summary: Broadly, this project will address the issue that a lack of fish origin and quality information within fish supply chains constrains innovation and growth within the seafood industry. Furthermore, the project will seek to address several issues identified by participants in the Australian Seafood Industry. This project will develop a Fish Provenance and Quality Tracking System to be developed for Sydney Fish Market. In particular, and working closely with fishers, on-board Fisherman Apps will be developed to record catch photos with time and location. Image recognition technologies will be developed to identify fish species and size.
