Summary: The aim of the project is to investigate harmful algal blooms and pathogenic bacteria impacting aquaculture producing estuaries in NSW, Australia. Novel molecular genetic assays will be developed for their use in small, portable, qPCR instruments that can be used on farm, with data made available. This can be applied to develop an early warning system for managing water quality, with specific application to the aquaculture industry.
