Start year: 2021
Summary: The aim of this project is to use high precision water quality, bacterial, phytoplankton and oyster data to change harvest area management to reduce closure times. Based on our previous data, we estimate that estuaries can increase their harvest opening days by an average of 3 weeks per year, which translates to a revenue increase of $3.48 million across the industry and 87 FTE jobs. Increased revenue will improve the confidence of the industry to further invest, and drive more growth.
