Summary: Australia is a global leader in live animal exports, not only in quantity, but in quality as well. This is credit to the high standards of animal health and welfare upheld by the industry; however this compliance burden places significant costs on the industry. This project aims to explore the commercial feasibility, viability and desirability of vision recognition technology developed at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) across key compliance related pain points in the live export supply chain. The outcomes of this project will provide TerraCipher and UTS with a clear business plan and accompanying development roadmap that will guide the partnership through the proof-of-concept phase to commercial adoption of the technology. It will break down the application of the technology into different commercial readiness levels, allowing the team to strategically pursue more accessible business opportunities first, that will aid and fund the development of the more sophisticated solutions.
