Summary: Powerlink has proposed to pilot an online and interactive energy trends visualisation tool. The goal is for it to be the 'go-to source' of energy information for engaged customers and customer advocates. The visualisation tool would: • Be pitched at audiences who have an interest in energy trends given their impact on customers e.g. customer advocacy organisations, medium-large business customers seeking energy cost savings, investors/financiers and journalists. • Thoughtfully present a range of relevant and factual information to make key trends visible • Include introductions and/or explanations to help users understand the significance of the data or trend that is presented, and the relationship between different parameters • Structure the information in a way that allows users to first view a high-level snapshot with the ability to progressively drill down * Act as a communications vehicle for RACE for 2030 CRC (in a similar way to APVI’s Solar Resource Map) to help partners, including researchers, to better understand the key industry problems facing the energy sector. It is expected that the preliminary research output would be a pilot of the online and interactive visualisation tool based on customer wants and needs explored through the project and a core set of initial information sets. This proposed project will engage with customer-facing organisations to understand what they need and want to know and begin to provide this type of information.
