Summary: The Yield, in partnership with Yamaha, are building a digitally enabled robotic future in viticulture, combining autonomous robotic operations with AI prediction services. However, for AI predictions to be improved by robots, there needs to be ways for ML systems to be trained by historical datasets – in-field observational data gathered by robots is not available historically. Hence we must try to identify relationships between robot data and other historically available data, such as satellite imagery and NDVI. These two inputs will be evaluated for likeness during particular times of the wine grape growing season and their impact in improving harvest predictions will be evaluated both combined and independently.
