Summary: The Association of Independent Schools New South Wales (AISNSW) requires data to understand the demographics of the independent sector education workforce in NSW. AISNSW would like BIDA to survey and analyse school-based responses only to understand the workforce profile of the independent sector (e.g. changes in student-to-teacher ratio, availability of teachers with subject-specific skillsets, etc.). AISNSW would also like to understand all education of staff responses for ongoing challenges, challenges amplified by COVID-19 such as health orders, border closures, earlier retirement - motivation and why they leave, pathways, autonomy, and professional learning, etc. In the scope of works listed, the measures are intended to be made at the school-based level (i.e., n=500) rather than asking questions directly of individual teachers. Any instrument deployed for a teacher sample will be dealt with in a separate project and budget.
