Summary: IPPG was engaged by CRS to prepare a Community Partnerships Framework, in response to an action in their Road Safety Plan 2021. The first stage of this was to develop an understanding of road safety and knowledge at the local government level. This was achieved through the design and implementation of an online survey, and an online forum (Synthetron) with local government senior and executive level staff, and highlighted the need for a collaborative resource that could enable idea sharing, collaboration, and access to clear information and data. The second phase of the project included testing stakeholder reactions to an prospective online resource with local government stakeholders, namely through targeted phone interviews. Stage 2 also included the preparation of six case studies (selected from survey and interview results) to showcase a range of successful road safety projects that used internal and external collaboration to benefit the project.
