Department of Regional NSW
Start year: 2022
Summary: At present, there are a number mobile phone blackspots across NSW. Regional areas, due to lower population density levels, have seen lower investment in telecommunication infrastructure, and therefore has a disproportionately higher level of poorer coverage. This research represents a follow-up study to one conducted by BIDA in 2020 for the Department of Regional (DPR) NSW. The study seeks to provide updated willingness to pay estimates for improving mobile phone black spots across NSW. The project not only seeks to replicate the previous study, but extend the research into further examining willingness to pay to improve connectivity whilst travelling.
