Summary: This project creates opportunity to reduce adverse effects of medications by expanding knowledge, enabling earlier recognition of medication related problems and facilitating appropriate early intervention. While the development of resources to improve medication management of community-dwelling people with dementia and their family carers are present, this does not consistently translate to the actual implementation and use by consumers at appropriate times, when they most need them. This research will produce an evidence-based framework that will guide and optimise QUM and medication management specifically for community-dwelling people with dementia in the community.
