Summary: The primary research aim of this project is to establish an Above Ground Containment Systems (AGCS) design to contain the large capacity Flywheel Energy Storage System (FESS) for the catastrophic failure scenario. The protective design is to be developed based on CIs’ expertise on high performance sustainable concrete and structural dynamic analysis and optimization.
