Ultrahigh Performance Batteries to Empower the Renewable Energy Transition

Summary: This Industry Laureate project aim to develop, manufacture, deploy and commercialise ultrahigh performance batteries for home and grid-scale energy storage. In collaboration with industry partners and end-users, the expected outcomes of this project encompass new high-capacity battery materials, non-flammable electrolytes, and high-energy batteries with exceptionally high level of operational safety and extended lifespan. This project will deliver leading-edge battery technologies to renewable energy industry that enable the integration of intermittent renewable energy sources, stabilise electricity networks, and increase energy independence, thus ensuring secure energy supply and empowering clean energy transition in Australia.
