Boron Nitride Workshop 2024 (BNW2024)
Start year: 2024
Summary: Boron Nitride (BN) – also known as a white graphene – is a unique wide bandgap, van der Waals material. Recently, it attracted lots of attention across many technologies – including Solid-state neutron detection technology; quantum technologies; energy; polaritonics; imaging; deep ultraviolet optoelectronics, mid infrared nanophotonics and and Non-volatile memories using ultra-thin magnetic layers and hBN. Consequently, we organized the Inaugural workshop on Boron Nitride (BNW2023), https://bnw2023.sciencesconf.org) last year that was a great success. This year, the workshop will be held in Sydney, at the University of Technology Sydney, where Prof Igor Aharonovich is a member of academic staff. The workshop (https://bnw2024.org) will be dedicated entirely to boron nitride (BN). Our aim is to create a long standing community, and grow it over years and decades to come. Hence the format of the workshop will be a single stream of presentations with extended poster sessions so that we can all have ample time to network. We will aim to make the conference affordable to enable large cohorts of PhD students and early career researchers to attend. It will enable ample networking opportunities, foster connections and scientific discoveries.
