Implementation of Implementation of the Australian Physical Activity Clinical Practice Guideline for people living with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury
Start year: 2024
Summary: • Conduct a national implementation trial to support effective implementation by health services of the MRFF-funded Australian Physical Activity Clinical Practice Guideline for people with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) (APP2009099; TBI Mission, Priority 1.3). • Develop implementation strategies based on barriers identified from qualitative and quantitative research conducted as part of the guideline development work. • Include additional barrier identification and solution focused work with Indigenous Australians, those living in regional and remote settings, and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) populations to optimise guideline implementation for priority populations. • Use novel research methods to obtain costing data (funded and out-of-pocket) of delivery and promotion of physical activity in people with TBI to address this evidence-gap. • Update the Australian Physical Activity Clinical Practice Guideline for people with TBI from new evidence generated by our team and others during the timeframe of this grant
