Machine learning-based signal processing on vibration data from building mechanical system for system health monitoring

Summary: This study aims to investigate the applicability of supervised machine learning classifier and digital signal processing on vibration response in the detection of various kinds of defects present in mechanical system in building. The objectives of this study are: 1) To review and identify the state-of-the-art application of advanced machine learning and signal processing on evaluating vibration data; 2) To develop advanced machine learning (ML) algorithms which can build predictive models that forecast future signal behaviour, facilitating proactive decision-making and preventive maintenance. 3) To test and verify developed advanced ML algorithm with real world case.
