Non-animal Technologies Network
Start year: 2024
Summary: The purpose of the Non-animal Technologies Network (NAT-Net) is to make groundbreaking discoveries in the field of medicine and health while developing and promoting alternative methods to animal use in research. Initially, our focus will be to develop and produce human cellular models that reproduce human development and diseases and offer capabilities to assist the research community and pharmaceutical industry in testing novel therapies. The development of medical products requires testing to determine their safety and efficacy before use in humans, which is often performed in animals. This network will develop technologies to refine, reduce or replace animal testing, that accelerate discovery science in key areas of clinical need and facilitate the development of new drugs and advanced therapies and medicinal products (ATMPs).
