Summary: Bowen Storage provides warehouse storage solutions to Australian Businesses. They were established in 1982 and have around 4000 customers assisting them to optimise their warehouse storage, thus delivering exceptional workplace solutions and create business improvement. Recently, Bowen storage has been working with an external partner in India to bring in a new product to the Australian market. To make this happen, Bowen has been working closely with structural engineers and UTS Tech lab conducting experiments with the new product and gathering empirical data. Building on the work that has already been done and ongoing at Tech Lab, Bowen wishes to build a racking calculator tool which allows them to develop and validate different racking designs. This engineering calculator for rack storage for the benefit of internal designers within Bowen to quickly estimate the viability of several racking designs without resorting to structural engineering expertise. As a result, the calculator will allow Bowen to reduce costs (both time and money) of responding to tenders to build and install racking systems. In the first instance the output of this project will be an MVP (minimum viable product).
