Manufacture of Multiwell Cartridges for High-throughput Screening of Phospholipase Biomarkers in Clinical Samples

Start year: 2025

Summary: This project seeks to create a prototype sensor capable of mass screening of stool samples for the activity of the enzyme phospholipase A2 (PLA2), which can be used for the early detection of colorectal cancers (CRCs) and inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs). The Aims of this proposal are: • To create a thermo-sealed biocompatible plastic adaptation of a 96-well plate to create tethered bilayer lipid membrane (tBLM) phospholipase sensors. • To assemble the tethered bilayer lipid membranes on gold electrodes in 96 well plates using automated solution delivery systems. • To validate the assembly and functionality of the technology.
