AlgoFuel - HTS Screening and Growth Optimisation

Summary: This project seeks to support process development strategy developed by Algo Fuels for the growth optimisation of their microalgae strains at the temperature ranges of Gove (NT), across the seasons for year-round cultivation. Understanding how core growth parameters – salinity, nutrients, pH/CO2, and light have on their microalgae biomass production and optimising these conditions for growth and lipid content are required to streamline their growth implementation. The specific objectives of the project are: Conduct a screening in the Algae Phenomics Facility “PhenoSelect” (Robot 1) array to understand in a 96 well plate format, the optimal growth conditions as defined as salinity, nutrient, light, and pH; verify with a small-scale growth trial Conduct a growth study in the Algae Phenomics Facility “PhenoGrow” (Robot 2) array to understand the driving parameter for growth OR lipid content
