International Symposium of Self-determination in Indigenous Peoples Child Protection

Summary: The symposium will contribute to the transformation of child protection for First Peoples that is necessary to address persistent inequities and experiences of harm. In addition to bringing together international scholars, the Symposium will include an opportunity to engage directly with local Aboriginal child and family leaders to identify practical opportunities for implementation and system transformation in Australian jurisdictions. The outcomes will be research papers and articles to be included in a special Special Edition of the journal Genealogy.
