Land Use Classification and Emission Assessment for Kilter, Prime, and Napco Farms

Start year: 2025

Summary: This project focuses on conducting Land Use (LU) classification and emission assessments for Kilter, Prime, and Napco farms, covering land categories such as forest and its subclasses, cropping, rangeland, and other land uses. The workflow includes running stress tests and emission calculations based on previously developed wheat and dairy emission estimation models. For Land Use, Land Use Change (LULUC) analysis, the project utilizes processed data from Wollemi and applies the LUT_classification_method for categorizing land types. Cropland and forestland emissions will be assessed using the FullCAM model, which requires re-parameterization and an API upgrade to align with recent framework changes. Grassland emissions will be estimated using the Socrate model, ensuring consistency across datasets and minimizing classification overlaps. The project deliverables include emission calculations for Kilter and Prime farms, FullCAM model upgrades, and post-upgrade assessments for Prime, Napco, and Rallen farms.
