Summary: If Australia wants to meet its’ Net Zero Targets by 2050, we need to fundamentally transform the way we capture and reuse organic by-products. This workshop will showcase latest research and innovation in circular economy for food and organic by-products, followed by interactive sessions on overcoming key bottlenecks and opportunities to scaling up and out. A closing discussion on opportunities for collaboration will be followed by a site visit to a new example of circular nutrient system that simultaneously bioremediates wastewater and generates multiple circular products for agriculture. The workshop will be held at UTS in Sydney, near Central Station, followed by a site visit. Participation is limited to 25 national experts to ensure a close collaboration. Invited participants include researchers with expertise ranging from circular economy, organic waste value chains, renewable fertilisers, biomaterials, bioenergy, food waste, circular markets and sustainable supply chain management, decarbonisation, food systems and circular governance.
