Heart Research Australia equipment - Developing 3D printed heart tissue for heart attack patients

Start year: 2025

Summary: Heart Research Australia will seek philanthropic support to cover costs associated with the purchase of a light-activated bioprinter. This uses a "volumetric" approach, where light is projected into a hydrogel to create 3D living tissues. If successful, we will expand capacity at UTS with the existing DLP printers, expanding also on the capacity of bioprinters for both research and teaching purposes. The system is very small and can be easily moved between laboratories.
